Located in the Historic town of Harbour Grace, Newfoundland, this Second Empire Style home was built in 1878 for Thomas R. Bennett who, at the time, was the Speaker of the House of Assembly in St. John's. The house was built on ocean front property and is surrounded by one acre of beautiful gardens and large old trees including a magnificent 200-year-old cherry tree. There's plenty of room to walk, talk, relax, and enjoy the ocean view.

Dotting the coast of Newfoundland are many isolated outports, communities which were once home to hundreds of people, but now lie silent and abandoned. Woody Island is a resettled community in Placentia Bay. The community at one time had a population of around 400, but now is virtually deserted, with the exception of a few people who return in the summer to fish.
Capture a true outport feeling when you stay, discover and adventure seek at Woody Island Resort.
